Alexander G. Kemp is Professor of Petroleum Economics at the University of Aberdeen. He has published over 200 papers and books. In 2006, he was awarded the OBE. In June 2011, Professor Kemp was appointed to the Scottish Government’s Energy Advisory Board. He authored The Official History of North Sea Oil and Gas, published in 2012. In 2012 he received the SPE Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2022, he was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah International

Most recently, he has worked for Queen’s University, Belfast on an ESRC grant-funded project, The Sterling Area Revisited. De Bromhead et al, 2022 is a recent output from this study.

Dr. Seán Kenny is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Economics in University College Cork, Ireland and is a research affiliate of Lund University, Sweden and Queen’s University, Belfast. His research focuses primarily on macroeconomic history, with particular focus on financial crises, public debt, political economy and productivity. He is the Principal Investigator on the project External Shocks and Fiscal Sustainability.
