Paul Ekins has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of London and is Professor of Resources and Environmental Policy at the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources at University College London. He was a Co-Director of the UK Energy Research Centre from 2004-2019. He is currently a member of UNEP’s International Resource Panel and leading on a project on financing the sustainable extraction of critical minerals. He was one of two global Co-Chairs of UNEP’s Global Environment Outlook, published in 2019. He is a member of BEIS’ Critical Minerals Expert Group.
