
Richard is a Part-time Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex, a Research Fellow at the IFS and Visiting Professor of Economics at University College London. He has been a member of the Senior Salary Review Body, a member of the NHS Pay Review Body an advisor to Tom Winsor’s investigation of police remuneration and a member of the Council of Economic Advisors to the Chancellor of the Exchequer (from 2018-19). His research interests lie largely in the field of applied microeconomics, notably labour market issues, housing policy, pensions and public spending.
