Sofia is an Economist at the South Asia Region Gender Innovation Lab at the World Bank. Previously, she was an Economist at the ifo Institute and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, leading a research group on the Economics of Violence Against Women. Her work spans violence, women’s mobility, gender, and development in India, UK, El Salvador, Mozambique, Colombia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. She is a CESifo Research Affiliate and linked to the University of Birmingham’s Crime and Policing Centre.
