Tanya Wilson is a Lecturer in Economics at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. She is the recipient of the 2016 Royal Economic Society Prize, and was awarded the Sir Alec Cairncross Prize from the Scottish Economic Society in 2017. Her research interests are in the economics of labour markets and the economics of the family. Tony is the Director of the Institute for Employment Studies, and has particular expertise in labour market policy and analysis; the design and evaluation of employment and skills programmes, particularly for disadvantaged groups; and helping organisations to understand and apply evidence of what works. Prior to IES, Tony was a Director at the Learning and Work Institute; and before this spent a decade in a range of roles in the Department for Work and Pensions, Jobcentre Plus and HM Treasury.
