Andrew Dilnot is Warden of Nuffield College Oxford and Chair of the Geospatial Commission. He was Chairman of the UK Statistics Authority from 2012 to 2017, and was the Chairman of the Commission on the Funding of Care and Support, which reported in 2011. He was Principal of St Hugh’s College, Oxford, from 2002 to 2012 and a Pro Vice Chancellor of Oxford University from 2005 to 2012. Elroy Dimson research is on long-horizon investing and responsible investing; his publications are on active ownership, investment management, endowment strategy, ESG investing and financial history. Dimson chairs the Advisory and Policy Boards of FTSE Russell and he serves on the Board of the Geneva Finance Research Institute. Until 2016 he chaired the Strategy Council of Norway’s sovereign wealth fund. He was formerly a Professor at London Business School.

Jonathan Dingel is an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. His research agenda focuses on the spatial distribution of economic activities across neighborhoods, cities, and countries. He aims to understand the substantial variation in the amount and nature of economic activity across space.

Ranil Dissanayake is a policy fellow at CGD. An economist with more than 15 years’ experience in international development policy making, he has been a senior economic adviser to the Governments of Malawi and Tanzania, and to successive Chief Economists in the UK’s Department for International Development. His work focuses on the future of development cooperation, economic development in poor countries, and bridging the gap between research and policymaking.

A macroeconomist who has specialised in monetary theory and the use of price-data to measure price rigidity, inflation and the effectiveness of monetary policy. He has done extensive research on the CPI price-quote data in the UK and France and has also used this for the macroeconomic modelling of inflation. He has also studied the impact of fiscal policy in the British economy.
