Climent Quintana-Domeque is a research fellow at IZA and a network member of the HCEO Family Inequality working group. He earned his PhD in Economics from Princeton University in 2008 under the supervision of Alan Krueger. His current research focuses on human capital, inequality and wellbeing. He currently serves in the editorial board of Economics and Human Biology and is one of the editors of the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics.

Birgitta Rabe is Reader in Economics at the University of Essex and Co-Investigator of Understanding Society and of the ESRC Centre on Micro Social Change. Birgitta is interested in human capital development, specifically the role of parental and public investments into children and how these investments interact. Areas of expertise include childhood obesity, childcare, school quality and maternal labour supply.

Tabassum Rahman is a PhD student. She is conducting her research on Indigenous Australian women’s smoking and quitting behaviour including smoking relapse in the context of pregnancy and postpartum periods to inform culturally sensitive smoking cessation interventions for Indigenous Australian women. Tabassum has experience of working in the field of violence against women, and with Indigenous communities, and early childhood development in Bangladesh.

Helmut Rainer is Professor of Economics at the University of Munich and Director of the Center for Labor and Demographic Economics of the ifo Institute. He has conducted theoretical and empirical research in labor economics, demographic economics and applied microeconomics.
