Cara is a senior researcher at the RWI – Leibniz Institute for Economic Research. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Goettingen. Her research focusses on how family dynamics interact with gender and health outcomes both in Germany and low- and middle-income countries. As part of her work Cara collects primary data and runs randomized experiments.

Fabian Eckert is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, San Diego. He received his undergraduate degree in Economics at University College London and his PhD from Yale University. His research focusses mainly on International Trade, Macroeconomics, Economic Geography, and Urban Economics. David Edgerton is a historian who has studied the economic, industrial and technological history of war and militarism notably in the UK. Among his books are England and the Aeroplane (1991, 2019), Warfare State: Britain 1920-1970 (2005), The Shock of the Old (2006, 2019) and The Rise and Fall of the British Nation: A twentieth-century History (2019). He has written on analogies between Covid-19 and war in the Guardian and the New Statesman.

Alex Edmans is Professor of Finance at London Business School. Alex has a PhD from MIT and was previously a tenured professor at Wharton. Alex has spoken at the World Economic Forum in Davos and given the TED talk “What to Trust in a Post-Truth World” and the TEDx talk “The Social Responsibility of Business” with a combined 2.3 million views. David leads the Fraser of Allander Institute’s work on fiscal policy. He is an expert on fiscal devolution and the devolved budgets. He has been adviser to the Scottish Parliament’s Finance Committee since 2016. David also has research interests in inequality and labour markets, and was previously a commissioner on the Scottish Government’s Poverty and Inequality Commission.

Paul Ekins has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of London and is Professor of Resources and Environmental Policy at the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources at University College London. He was a Co-Director of the UK Energy Research Centre from 2004-2019. He is currently a member of UNEP’s International Resource Panel and leading on a project on financing the sustainable extraction of critical minerals. He was one of two global Co-Chairs of
