Morten is a macroeconomist who has interests both in applied macroeconomics and in macroeconomic theory. Recent work has been concerned with a wide range of topics surrounding monetary and fiscal policy, aggregate business cycles, inequality and incomplete markets, and using external instruments for identification in macroeconometrics. Birgitta Rabe is Reader in Economics at the University of Essex and Co-Investigator of Understanding Society and of the ESRC Centre on Micro Social Change. Birgitta is interested in human capital development, specifically the role of parental and public investments into children and how these investments interact. Areas of expertise include childhood obesity, childcare, school quality and maternal labour supply.

Tabassum Rahman is a PhD student. She is conducting her research on Indigenous Australian women’s smoking and quitting behaviour including smoking relapse in the context of pregnancy and postpartum periods to inform culturally sensitive smoking cessation interventions for Indigenous Australian women. Tabassum has experience of working in the field of violence against women, and with Indigenous communities, and early childhood development in Bangladesh.

Helmut Rainer is Professor of Economics at the University of Munich and Director of the Center for Labor and Demographic Economics of the ifo Institute. He has conducted theoretical and empirical research in labor economics, demographic economics and applied microeconomics. Next to this, he has been involved in several policy evaluations for ministries in Germany.

Tarun Ramadorai has a broad range of research interests in the areas of household finance, asset pricing, and international finance. He has published on these topics in a number of scholarly journals in Finance and Economics. In addition to his academic work, Tarun has taken on several advisory roles in the area of financial regulation and policy in both India and Europe.

Vasudha Ramakrishna is a Research Associate at the Yale Research Initiative on Innovation and Scale (Y-RISE). She works on research projects in development economics on technology adoption, behaviour change, and the evaluation of large-scale programs, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Mushfiq Mobarak, conducting data analysis and providing research support. Vasudha holds an MS in economics from Tufts University, where she worked on research relating to agricultural technology adoption, and
