Tony is the Director of the Institute for Employment Studies, and has particular expertise in labour market policy and analysis; the design and evaluation of employment and skills programmes, particularly for disadvantaged groups; and helping organisations to understand and apply evidence of what works. Prior to IES, Tony was a Director at the Learning and Work Institute; and before this spent a decade in a range of roles in the Department for Work and Pensions, Jobcentre Plus and HM Treasury.
