Quite a lot of my current research is focused around families of children with an intellectual disability: family support for child mental health and family relationships, understanding the early years of development and children’s future outcomes, understanding school-related outcomes and child well-being. A lot of this research also includes autistic children and their families, in particular autistic children with an intellectual disability. Over the years I have been maintaining an active interest in the quality of life of adults with an intellectual disability and how best to support them and their carers to achieve a better quality of life.
