Lisa Wilson is a Senior Economist at the Nevin Economic Research Institute (NERI), where she engages in a comprehensive range of research areas including the labour market, income distribution, poverty, public expenditure, living standards, and well-being. Her dedication to enhancing the well-being of individuals and communities is evident through her extensive research and policy work.
In addition to her role at NERI, Lisa serves as an independent expert to the Minister for Economy in Northern Ireland, currently advising Minister Conor Murphy on the ‘good jobs’ pillar of his economic vision. Lisa is also a former member of the Independent Fiscal Commission in Northern Ireland, where she looked at the case for further devolution of tax raising powers to Northern Ireland.
Lisa graduated with a Bsc Hons from Ulster University in 2007 and later pursued her postgraduate studies at Queen’s University, Belfast. She holds a Ph.D. from Queen’s University, focusing her research on income inequality and well-being.
