Professor Anne Kavanagh is Head of?Disability and Health in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health at the University of Melbourne. She is the Director of the NHMRC funded?Centre of Research Excellence in Disability and Health?(CRE-DH). Anne is an internationally renowned scholar in the field of health inequalities with specific expertise in disability and gender. Anne has received nearly 48 million dollars in research funding and has published over 200 peer reviewed papers. She leads a research team who use quantitative and qualitative methods to identify policy solutions that turn around the social and economic disadvantage people with disability experience. She works with people with disability as researchers and advocates as well as governments and services. Her work is enriched by her lived experience as someone with chronic health problems and as a parent of a young man with a disability.
