Gemma Tetlow is chief economist at the Institute for Government. She works across the Institute’s programme areas. She joined the Institute in April 2018. Between 2016 and 2018, Gemma was economics correspondent at the Financial Times, reporting on and analysing economic developments in the UK and globally. Before that, Gemma spent 11 years at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, leading the organisation’s work on public finances and pensions. Gemma has a PhD in economics from University College London and an MSc and BSc in economics from the University of Warwick.
