Dr. Michael Aldous is a business historian with an interest in understanding how the ownership, organisation, and leadership of firms effects the company and industry performance. He is the co-author of The CEO: The Rise and Fall of Britain’s Captains of Industry (forthcoming CUP), which investigates British CEOs in the 20th century, examining how corporate leaders have shaped their companies, the economy, and society in the twentieth century. The book reflects on how business and government can improve the preparation and governance of these vital actors in our society.
