Sule Alan is a Professor of Economics at the European University Institute, Florence. Her research primarily focuses on the applications of behavioral science to designing and evaluating social policies. A significant component of her research involves designing novel experimental methods to measure socioemotional skills in children and adolescents. She is a board member of the Innovation in Government Initiative and co-chair of the Humanitarian Initiative at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and an affiliate at the Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA).
