Sharot is a Wellcome Trust Senior Research Fellow. Her research focuses on how emotion, motivation and social factors influence our expectations, decisions and beliefs. Her papers have been published in top scientific journals including Nature, Science and Nature Neuroscience. Dr. Sharot is the author of The Optimism Bias (2011) and The Influential Mind (2017), both of which received the British Psychological Society Book Award. Nihar is an economist at the Health Foundation and works primarily on labour market issues in health and social care. Previously, he worked as a labour market economist at HM Treasury, where he undertook research on minimum wage policy. Nihar also has prior experience in quantitative and qualitative research at Ofgem and ICF Consulting. His areas of expertise include labour economics, development economics and international trade.

Dr Shesterinina is Director of the Centre for the Comparative Study of Civil War, UKRI Future Leaders Fellow leading the £1.2m Civil War Paths project (https://www.civilwarpaths.org/) and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Sheffield. Her field-intensive research examines internal dynamics of and international intervention in civil war, with a focus on mobilization, ex-combatant reintegration and civilian protection norms and practices.

Robert Shimer is the department chair and the Alvin H. Baum Professor in Economics at the University of Chicago. Prior to joining the Chicago faculty in 2003, he taught at Princeton University. He received his doctorate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Shimer is a research associate in the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Research Fellow for IZA Institute of Labor Economics, a consultant at the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta and Chicago, an International Fellow at the Dale T.

Mehdi is an Economist at the GO Lab. His work involves enhancing the reliability of impact bond evaluations by promoting robust economic evaluation methods such as cost-effectiveness and decision analysis. Prior to joining the GO Lab team, he worked with medical researchers at the Ninewells Hospital, Dundee to analyse the cost-effectiveness of an innovative methods of diagnosing prostate cancer. Professor Emily Shuckburgh OBE is a world-leading climate scientist, and Director of Cambridge Zero, the University of Cambridge’s climate change initiative. She is also Professor of Environmental Data Science and Academic Director of the Institute of Computing for Climate Science. She leads the UK national research funding body’s (UKRI) Centre for Doctoral Training on the Application of AI to the study of Environmental Risks (AI4ER) and is a director of the Centre for Landscape Regeneration
