Marlene Jugl is Assistant Professor of Public Administration at Bocconi University in Milan. She holds a doctoral degree from the Hertie School in Berlin. In her research, she explores how government organizations interact with politicians, citizens, and other stakeholders, and how societal, cultural, and historical factors influence how governments and bureaucracies function. Her main research interest is on country size and its effects on the structure and performance of public administration.

Professor Patricia Justino is a leading expert on political violence and development. She is currently UNU-WIDER’s Deputy Director and Professorial Fellow at the Institute of Development Studies (on leave). She holds a MPhil in Economics from the University of Cambridge and a PhD in Economics from the University of London. She has held visiting positions at Harvard University (2007-09) and the European University Institute (2017), among others.

Ricky Kanabar is an Assistant Professor of Social Policy at the University of Bath. His principal research interests are in the social mobility, ageing and health. His research has featured in leading international economics journals, international newspapers and he has written articles in leading outlets such as The Economist, The Economics Observatory and The Conversation. Heidi is a Research Economist in the Pensions and Public Finance sector. Her current work includes research on pensions and saving for retirement, with a focus on pension saving of the self-employed. Before joining the IFS, she worked in infrastructure financing.

Anil Kashyap’s research focuses on financial intermediation and regulation, the Japanese economy, price setting, and monetary policy. His research has won him numerous awards, including a Sloan Research Fellowship, the Nikkei Prize for Excellent Books in Economic Sciences, and a Senior Houblon-Norman Fellowship from the Bank of England (twice). As of October 1, 2016 he is an external member of the Bank of England’s Financial Policy Committee.
